Daily Prompt Response—Alternative Career Path

Really? This is the prompt I get today? Um…nearly 90% of my posts since the spring have been about my alternative career path. Of course, this random question generator couldn’t have known that and I am always happy to tell anyone who will listen about why I turned my back on a career that I spent 19 years cultivating. Shoot, I even have an apple tattoo that I got at the beginning of it because, an apple for the teacher. And even though my new career path still has me working at a school, it is not what I planned and/or ever thought that I would be doing. I will never say thank you or admit that I am grateful to the person who gave me all the experiences I had at my old job (because I’m not). However, I realized this week, after a few ‘interesting’ experiences with people at my new job that I am in general grateful for the experience I had there. So, thank you ‘school year from hell’, you’ve made it much easier to deal with literally anything that comes up in my new job. And I can deal with it now without crushing anxiety and fear of criticism. I love it! This is how it should have always been. With that said, I’ll just remember my favorite piece of advice when reflecting on this new career path…don’t analyze it, just enjoy it!
