What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?

A very long life is a luxury not afforded to everybody. Some have no choice in the matter because of their physical health and some make the choice because of their mental health.

Living for a lengthy amount of time presents a world of opportunity for us to make the best use of the time we are given. How will we use it? And for what purpose? Our own? Or for the betterment of others? This is a timely question given the recent death of President Jimmy Carter. His 100 years of life were dedicated to serving others.

There’s also value in living a life that is uniquely and privately ours. I would be happy to live out my years with my husband and our dogs and cats in our little house with the big backyard. Let me live a long time in peace doing what makes me happy in the place where I am the happiest.

May we all live as long as we desire doing what we feel is our purpose in the world.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
