What do you complain about the most?

My job. Don’t we all? To be fair, the complaints about my current job are much less serious than the complaints I had about my old job. In fact, the things at work that make me want to complain are often so inconsequential that I decide that I would rather not bring it home and complain about it. No big deal.

I also complain about my stomach a lot. I have taken Mounjaro for about a year and it didn’t take me long to figure out why people lose weight so quickly on it. It makes your stomach so upset that you don’t keep food down or in very often. Not that you want to eat very much while on it. It slows down your digestion significantly to the point that you just aren’t very hungry. The stomach upset is most severe when you are changing doses, which you have to do frequently at first as you gradually increase to the proper dose. Once you get to the dose you’re supposed to be on and you stay there for a while, the stomach upset diminishes. But it doesn’t go away! The shot is once weekly and in the first few days after the shot, my stomach is most definitely sour and whatever I do eat never sits well on those days. It wears off by the end of the week, but I feel like it has ranked right up there with my job (old and new) on my list of complaints this past year. I have continued to take it though because it has made my a1c a number that is truly beautiful, as opposed to what it was at the height of my stress and anxiety in my old job.

Aside from those two things, I have little to complain about these days. I make a very conscious effort to be grateful for my life now and see the good things all around me. I survived the most negative of the negative and I choose now to be as positive as I can. Complaining doesn’t help with that effort.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
