What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

I am unapologetically a person who will watch the same movie every day. In previous posts I’ve talked a lot about the movies, “You’ve Got Mail”, “The Devil Wears Prada”, and “Julie & Julia”. “You’ve Got Mail” is the movie I watch nearly every Saturday. I’ve read that people with anxiety tend to do that. Watching something over and over is calming in a way because we know what to expect and can kind of zone out while watching. It really works. I’m less concerned about the ‘why’ behind it.

There are several other movies on my list that I’ve seen more than 5 times. Actually, a lot more. I could almost create a spreadsheet with categories like, watched more than 5 but less than 10, watched more than 10 but less than 20, and of course I’d have to have a ‘watched more than 20’ category. Some of my other less girly movies that fit in those categories are: “Signs” (we literally watch this every Sunday evening before going to bed. It’s our joint comfort movie). Also, “The Accountant”, “The Martian”, “The Gentlemen”… lots of movies with “The” in the title.

As far as tv shows, I’m going with “Friends” and “Will & Grace”. Those are both series that I have watched from beginning to end repeatedly. Though I will admit I only watched a couple episodes of the “Will & Grace” reboot. It just wasn’t the same. “The Big Bang Theory” is one I watch frequently. Also, working my way through “The Office” for the first time. I already watch the re-runs of the earlier seasons. “That 70s Show” was a favorite too.

I’m honestly more interested today to see what other people have on their lists. I know what I watch obsessively. I really want to see what other people watch. Or, even finding out if everybody watches things on repeat. I would imagine some people only watch things once or twice and don’t like watching something over and over. To be fair, there are some movies I have seen and will never watch again (“Million Dollar Baby” being one of them. Never cried so hard at a movie in my entire life)!

Y’all need to fess up now…what have you seen more than 5 times? Or really, so many times you’ve lost count?

  1. Signs is a great movie! I don’t think I have met many people who rewatch movies on a weekly basis. There are so many ways to do this life!

    1. Lol! The Saturday movie started because I used to be a teacher and would write lesson plans on Saturdays. So I’d put the movie on because I liked it, but also because it was good background noise and just long enough that I could be finished with my plans by the time it ended. And I don’t know how we got onto the weekly “Signs” viewing. It’s just our comfort movie, which is weird since it’s about killer aliens, lol!

      1. But there is GREAT comfort in that movie, if you ask me. It’s one of my favorite redemotion films.

      2. Oh absolutely! The story and how it ends is the best! Ranks up there with The Shawshank Redemption for the quality of the ending.

      3. It’s one of my favorite films, actually, as is shawshank.

That’s a great post 🙂 some really good selections. I’ll have to think about mine and get back to you.

  3. I love “The Accountant,” and it’s LEGIT a movie I watch every time it airs. LOL. Also, The Matrix, The Color Purple (the original), Kill Bill (Volume I), The Emperor’s New Groove, Sin City, Steele Magnolias, and Ip Man, just to name a few.

    1. Yes! And did you know there’s a sequel coming out next month?! Ray King is killed and his dying message is to find the accountant to solve his murder. That Medina lady from the first one seeks him out and then he works with his brother on the case. I can’t wait! Also, I haven’t seen all of those other movies, but Steel Magnolias is definitely on my list too! I have a purple tshirt that says “I slapped Ouiser Boudreaux”. It’s the best, lol!

      1. 😆🤣😂 I bet that T-Shirt rocks!

I have a feeling I may not like the sequel to The Accountant. They need NOT mess with a good thing! 😆🤣😂

      2. I agree! I probably won’t like it either. Especially since I think they can’t bring back Anna Kendrick’s character. I really liked her in the first one.

  4. The Godfather. I own it but anytime I turn on the TV and see it showing i will watch it. I do this with all 3 not just the first one.

    1. Oh man, I really need to see that! I love all the other mob movies and shows, I really should watch the OG.

      1. Yeah you do.

      2. I’ll add it to the list. I really do have a list of movies and shows that I either want to see for the first time or watch again for the first time since becoming an adult.

  5. I think watched white chicks more than 5 times just because sometimes needed that calm and laughter

    1. That’s another one I haven’t seen but think I should. Light, funny movies are always a good idea!

      1. Definitely a must if looking to escape and just laugh
