I should add a category to my Monday theme because today, I don’t have something from a song or a movie. It’s from a television show. Based on the title, did you guess what show I’m referencing?

If you guessed The Office, you are correct. Specifically this scene, when Jim dresses up as Dwight, in front of Dwight.

I bring this up because my secretary at work—no hate for me using the secretary term, that’s what her actual title is. I would prefer to call her my administrative assistant but apparently our job has those too and that’s not her role. So, my secretary’s favorite show is the Office. She has a World’s Best Boss mug on her desk and everything. I recently finished watching the series for the first time and that meant she and I had a lot to gab about.

Her favorite character is Dwight and so when she got married in June, I decided to make her a Dwight themed house-warming present. I did get her a gift card for her wedding, but the Dwight gift is still not done. Even though she moved into her apartment with her husband 6 months ago. I’m very close to finishing though! And this is what it is—a Dwight themed pillow. Though, truth be told, it’s a Jim dressed as Dwight pillow.

This is the front—haven’t sewn on the glasses yet:

I truly did not mess up the left side, that’s how the pattern was. I don’t like it either.

Here’s the back:

When it’s finished, it will say: Bears. Beets. Battlestar Gallactica.

And then I’ll sew the front to the back and stuff it with a pillow and there you go.

My secretary does not celebrate birthdays or other holidays such as Christmas. So even though I really want to finish this by Wednesday, her last day before the holiday, it won’t be a Christmas present. I’d like it to be a “Happy End of Stranger Things” present. I learned today that she, like me, cries at the end of movies and shows. Based on the trailer for part 2 that just got released, it seems that there are going to be a lot of opportunities for tears in this next part. She can hold onto this pillow during it.

Really though, I just want an excuse to hurry up and finish this for her because I’m excited to give it to her and I don’t want to wait until we get back in January.

Although, that means I have only tonight and tomorrow night to finish it. I’m further along on the back than the picture shows, but still more to do.

Stay tuned…

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
