“Something Good” Sunday
There have been quite a few good things this week. It’s definitely been interesting. From going to the mall for the first time in a long time and bringing home an artifact from my teenage years–a blue lava lamp to trying a new restaurant last night with Josh. Not just any restaurant, a little place that has a huge menu of fancy hot dogs. Called Dog Slingers, this place has a hot dog flight on their menu! You can get 3, 5, or 7 mini versions of any of the dogs on their menu so you can sample them. We’re definitely doing that next time.
The best part of the week I think is going to come in a couple of hours. This afternoon we have tickets to go see “Project Hail Mary”. I’m very excited to see this because the book was fantastic and…Ryan Gosling. Someone on Threads commented that the movie makers did the book justice without making the movie 6 hours long. I mean, as long as Ryan Gosling is in it, I can watch for 6 hours. Mondays on here are for music and/or movies. So I’m planning to write about my experience seeing the movie tomorrow.
I suppose if I had to narrow down one thing this week that I’ve already done that was good, I’d have to say it was getting my lava lamp. My desire to keep working on my book has not waned. I’ve worked on it a little bit each day. It’s tedious because all I’m doing is transcribing my journals. I started volume 7 and I’m ready to really make some progress. Teenage Sarah was annoying with her obsession with boys. I’m eager to be finished with all the transcribing so I can get to the part that is the most creative. Where I write the inbetween parts. Where I reflect and make connections and write about lessons learned and what it all means and why it all matters. That’s what I want to get to. But this part right now is important too. I thought about maybe skipping around journal numbers so I can transcribe but take a break from high school me at the same time. I really think I need to keep going in order though. But, the point is, I have kept up my enthusiasm for writing my book. I’ve also made an effort to keep my presence up on my social media accounts. I’ve posted more on Facebook and Instagram related to my overall platform. The response has been good, but slow. And I expect that. These things take time. And time I have. I’m going to keep going.
In the meantime, I’m going to get back to interacting with people on Threads while I wait for it to be time for us to go to the movie theater. I’ve had a few posts on there get a lot of attention and I’m really enjoying the back and forth (in a good way) with the people on there.
