Today was my first day at my new job. I don’t want to say too much about it because as I grow my social media presence, I’m cautious about that whole “doxxing” thing.

What I will say is that the pictures I took this morning are now irrelevant.

I was going to say something like…this is who my supervisor thinks she hired:

This is who she actually hired:

But! I learned this afternoon that my supervisor and I are a lot alike. We are all working from home until our fancy new building is done in mid-May. So our first meeting was over Teams. She has funky cool glasses and a nose ring. She was wearing a long sleeved sweater and when she gestured with her hands or pushed her glasses up on her nose, her sleeves slid down and I could see that she has tattoos all down her forearms. Like me. I think she and I are going to be in the same boat as far as doing what we can to look professional while rocking some stellar ink underneath. And you know what? That’s just awesome.

  1. So cool!!! Glad your first day went well. And I hope they have a little bit of a casual professional look so you can shine

    1. I hope so too! It gets hot down here in the summer…I don’t want to wear long sleeves all summer! I’ll take my cue from her though.

      1. Always a good call

  2. How funny but eerily a true concern about the whole doxxing thing!
I love tattoos and admire them when I see others with ink – I was never brave enough to get them because I have a huge fear of needles XD

    1. My husband has a needle phobia too! I have all of this and he has nothing! Lol! I told him he needs to at least get my name on him because I have his. It’s only fair!

      1. It’s only fair – what if he gets a dot and says it’s a star 🤭 like Phoebe from Friends did 😂 would it still count?

      2. 🤣🤣 Not a chance!

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
