Flashback Friday

Today I’m going back two years to the day I took this picture:

That was the picture I took mere minutes after submitting my very last assignment for grad school. After two long, but felt fast and short, years of big projects and tests, submitting that last assignment felt amazing!

It was not long after my final submission that I got started on my “After Grad School To-do List”. The list I had started keeping during that last semester of things I wanted to do for fun once grad school was over and I could breathe again. No more school work meant more things that I wanted to do.

I still have the list hanging up, though I haven’t crossed anything off lately. Some things on there I don’t anticipate I will ever get to because I’m no longer interested in doing them, but I did make good progress on the other things.

I had crossed off “organize yarn stash” but I actually need to do it again. After two years, it’s quite disorganized again. On the back of this paper is a list of things I wanted to knit or crochet. Not much is crossed off of that list though.

And even though I finished grad school two years ago, I am still cherishing the feeling of not having work to do at home. I don’t think that feeling will ever get old. It was a long time coming.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
