If you had an unlimited budget for 24 hours, what would you do?

An unlimited budget, huh? This is kind of like those questions about what you would do if you won the lottery. These answers have to be a little more creative since there’s only 24 hours. Can’t get contractors and repair men out to make all the renovations and upgrades to our house that are needed in 24 hours. Even if we called them ahead of time and scheduled them for that one day, the work wouldn’t all be done then and payment is usually due upon completion. Maybe we could put deposits for future work.

But aside from practical options, I think I’d go buy a big, fancy, powerful truck for Josh. He really wants something that he can drive onto the beach with when he goes fishing. It needs to be a good truck so that when I buy a boat for him next, he can tow it.

Now as for me and what I would spend on myself, assuming I still had time in the day after buying a truck and a boat for Josh…I’m going to park myself in a chair at my favorite tattoo shop and I’m going to discuss ideas with my favorite artists for all the art I can possibly think of adding to my body. Since I can’t physically get all of that ink in that short amount of time, I’m going to go ahead and book the appointments and pay the deposit for each appointment, then I’m going to pay for them up front. The artists always quote a price during the consultation which they always stick to the day of. So the price is not going to change, even if I come back for the appointment months later.

Those things sound good for now. I might get myself a car too. I don’t necessarily need a new one. After all, it has a new engine in it. But everything else about it is old and outdated. I don’t wan tto get a new one because I don’t want a car payment given how expensive I’ve heard they are these days. But with an unlimited budget that wouldn’t be an issue.

Of course, these are very selfish things I’d do with unlimited money. I suppose I could also do something charitable. Maybe donate a pile of money to the county animal shelter. They’re way over crowded and don’t have the resources to take care of the animals that are brought in. We’ve adopted 3 amazing dogs from there and I would hate to see any animal lose out on a chance at adoption because they have to be put down for space.

So, in conclusion, the theme of my unlimited budget day would be transportation, body art, and shelter animals. A pretty good combination I think.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
