“Something Good” Sunday
There are 3 things that I need to report that are making me happy today.
First, last night, Josh and I made our semi-weekly trip to Barnes & Noble. Usually we go on Sunday evenings, but we were out to dinner last night instead of tonight so we went. I had read comments online about Stephen King’s It and the controversy over a particular scene he included.

People were defending the scene, as yes, messed up, but also, necessary to the plot. I realized that I don’t remember much about the overall plot of that particular book. I saw the Tim Curry tv movie/mini-series back in the 90s, but I don’t remember much about the specific details. So I bought the book as my spooky season read. It’s super thick though, and so I have shelved it already in favor of reading Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes. It’s much shorter, so I may be able to read both. I’m putting my current book on hold. It’s a thick one too.
The second thing that’s good today, also related to spooky season, is the tattoo I got. It’s the smallest one I’ve gotten in a long time and the whole session was less than an hour. Score!

After she was finished, I went to the piercer on staff (coincidentally, the tattoo artist’s mom). I realized recently that I still have a third hole in my ear. I got it in high school and forgot about it. It was partially closed and had to be re-pierced, so I got that done too. I’m not big into piercings, though I did have my eyebrow and tongue pierced when I was in college. I’m not interested in getting more in my ears than this third hole, which is only in one of my ears.
Finally, my Amazon order came today. Well, part of it. I ordered three pairs of new shoes for work. Josh thinks all my choices are hideous. I originally had two more pairs in my cart but I put them back. The first pair came today. The other two are going to be here in a couple weeks. No Prime shipping for them apparently. The shoes that came first are actually pretty tacky. Ugly. Hideous is probably a good word for them like Josh originally suggested. But you know what? They are so ugly that I can’t help but love them. I’m going to wear them. And people are going to look at them and think to themselves, “Good grief those are ugly shoes! But they work with the rest of what she’s wearing.” Challenge accepted.
Here are the eye-searingly ugly shoes:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, friends. May you all find something good today or from this week that makes you happy.
