What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

I never personally received this advice, but I kind of did. This advice came from a fictional t.v. mom on the show “Life Goes On” (told you I was a 90s kid). Her daughter Becca was over-analyzing some situation with her boyfriend or something else teen angst related. It was a good thing that had happened though. Her mom simply said, “Don’t analyze it, just enjoy it.” That quote has stuck with me ever since. It is 100% the truth! I am so much like Becca. I will over-analyze something until there is nothing left, no matter what it is. But remembering what Patti Lupone said on that show helps me to stop the ramble of thoughts in my head and just accept that whatever it is was something good and I should enjoy it for what it is.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
