A few days ago, the daily prompt asked about our perfect spot to read and write. I wrote about my craft room/office at the back of my house (My Perfect Haven). As I was reading the responses of other bloggers, I came across a post that described their ideal space having a daybed in it. That’s when inspiration struck me for my own room. I have a twin bed that was in my office in case of guests. I took down the bed so I could put up a crate for our new dog. Our new dog has adapted so well that we quickly took the crate down. With an empty space in the room now, I really wanted a comfy chair and ottoman to go in it. But after reading the post about a daybed, I was instantly attracted to the idea of rearranging the shelves in the room so that I could put the bed lengthwise against the wall. I was stumped at one point because while this room is amazing, it is also small. One last tall bookshelf didn’t have a place to go.

Somehow I got the random idea to put the bed in front of the shelf so that the bookcase was almost like a headboard. And let me say, I LOVE how it turned out! It’s not an actual daybed, but it might as well be. I have some orange throw pillows on the way from Amazon. I’ll add more pillows little by little so that this becomes a truly lounge-worthy accessory to the room.

I just finished re-hanging the tapestry and making the bed and I am just absolutely thrilled with how this came out! It’s truly making me happy today.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
