I got the snow day I wanted! School dismissed two hours early yesterday and there was no word on school today until about 7 a.m., but the call did come and we were closed! Granted, I then had to call, email, and/or text students in the classes that would be affected by the closure today. I had to repeat that process when they announced a remote learning day for tomorrow around 5:30 this evening.

Regardless, I got my lazy day of deep couch sitting. I propped up on the couch in my fuzzy robe under my fuzzy blanket with a crochet blanket project in my lap. After my fill of storm coverage on the news, I put on “The Office” and binged several episodes. There was a delightful nap after the noon news in that exact same position on the couch. My in-progress blanket is large enough that it was a nice extra layer of warmth during my nap. The dogs were squished in against my legs and feet. It was glorious! Not a single dish was washed or piece of laundry folded. Except for the work I had to do, I was completely lazy. I have to go back to work tomorrow, albeit on a two-hour delay. But I’m not dreading it. I haven’t dreaded a day at work since I started this job.

My office is tiny. It’s only me in there. There’s a frosted film stuck to the little window in the door. I don’t think anybody would know if I did my work in my fuzzy bathrobe. If nothing else, I may take my furry slippers to wear under my desk. Without the students there because of the remote learning day, who’s to see and tell on me?

If you read my post about what I want my pets to understand, Millie is the brown dog with the pink collar. Ethan, by default, is the other one.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
