Write about your approach to budgeting.

When it comes to a budget, I follow Dave Ramsey’s debt snowball idea. I have two credit accounts that need paying off and I have a whole budget plan/timeline for doing that.

But to put it simply, I approach my budget by making sure my bills are paid and I’ve thrown a little in savings. The budget stops after that. Which is probably why Amazon gets so much of my money. It’s never budgeted, but after the bills are paid, what does it matter? Actually, my husband would probably have an answer to that “what does it matter” question. I heard that there are two types of people in the world, spenders and savers. And they marry each other. That’s my husband and me. I’m definitely the spender.

After I pay off my two credit accounts though, I’m going to try and switch to saving mode and put a lot more into savings. That way I can maybe one day do something really frivolous like quit my job (again) and devote my time to becoming a writer that actually gets paid. It could happen.

  1. I hope it does happen for you! 💕

  2. As a spender myself, I really want to save more but it’s just hard. I see sales on something I’ve even just thought about & I’m sold🥹

    1. Absolutely! My will power is non-existent!

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
