Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.

I really think we’ve had this exact same question before. Have I been answering these long enough to see we’re circling back to old prompts? Oh well. I’m pretty sure last time I wrote that I am the most ambitious DIY project I’ve ever taken on. And I’m not done with it yet. I actually don’t think I ever will be done. What I’m experiencing now is a growth of my authentic self. “Authentic self” is sort of a cliche’ trendy term to use now but that’s honestly what I’m working on. I don’t think growth like that should ever be stopped. I want to keep learning and growing every day.

In fact, I have a new slogan to add to my growth campaign. I learned it during my therapy appointment last night. “My voice is non-negotiable”. For any of you who have read my posts lately, you know that using my voice is very important to me because I’ve never been able to use it until now. My therapist and I were talking about how to communicate better with the people who matter, i.e. my husband. And that’s when that non-negotiable came up. It’s a powerful statement and it hit me hard. So this “DIY project” will include repeated use of that mantra.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
