What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

I’m going to keep my post short because it’s after 8 pm where I am and there’s not a lot of time left in the day. I haven’t written until now because when I got home from work, I went almost straight to a tattoo appointment. I didn’t really get anything new, just had a very old tattoo get a beautiful, vibrant makeover.

As far as my blog goes, I’ve been very open about the fact that mental health is very important to me. I believe that there is a stigma around mental illness and I want to change that. Hopefully by talking about my own struggles with mental illness and just being honest about my life in general, I hope to help people feel comfortable or inspired to either think differently about people struggling with their mental health or pay a little closer to their own internal feelings.

Not everything I write about relates to that, and from my posts that might ramble about things that aren’t all that important in the grand scheme of life, I hope somebody will relate to my words. Feel less alone in their way of thinking or their ideas. Humans are social creatures whether we want to be or not. Connectedness is important even if it’s connecting with a random person that lives on a dot on the map that is far away from your own tiny dot on the map.

That’s the impact I want to make. Whether that creates a change or not is sort of irrelevant. Basically, I just want my words here to mean something to somebody, somewhere, at some point.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
