The daily writing prompts here on WordPress are becoming overly redundant and now it appears they’re just recycling the exact ones from a year ago. So, I think I’m going to pivot and not do the daily prompts much anymore. Unless one comes up that I haven’t answered before. I’m going to start focusing my daily posts on a theme. Since today is Sunday, I’m thinking to write about something good that happened this week. Or just anything good, whether it was an event or a feeling or a meal, or whatever.

This week there was a lot of anxiety, but it all got dealt with by seeing my psychiatrist who gave me a new “as needed” medicine to take. And I visited my therapist who reassured me that my body will eventually stop with the anxiety every time I have to stand up for myself.

But that’s not the “something good” for this week. The best part of this week came this morning. You have to know that I’m as impatient as it gets. Especially around Christmas. My husband and I don’t have kids, so we give gifts to each other on Christmas Day. When there’s a really good one that I have for him, I have a hard time not giving it to him early. I’ve done that a few times over our 25 year history. Today I did it again. To be fair, we were driving home from breakfast and passed a fleet of Amazon trucks that had apparently just come from the warehouse to start making deliveries. Earlier this week, a gift I ordered for my husband arrived. And when we saw the trucks, I teased him about the gift. Somehow that led to us coming home and me just going ahead and giving it to him.

“Predator” is his favorite movie and because of that, “Get to da choppa” comes out of his mouth randomly. With the weather being cooler now, he has also started buying new hoodies. With both of us losing weight, we frequently have to buy new clothes in our new sizes. So, I got him this:

Let me just say, I was a geeky kind of excited to give it to him and I would honestly say, he was a geeky kind of excited to get it.

That just means, however, that I am back to square 1 as far as Christmas gifts for him… oh well.

Question for the group…what is something good that happened this week for you?

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
