What makes you feel nostalgic?

I’m limited on time today. I’m meeting up with an online knitting friend who is visiting family near where I live. We’re going to visit a yarn store and have lunch. I’m very excited about that.

So, with my small amount of time, I’ll simply say that music makes me feel the most nostalgic. Sometimes a smell will do the trick, but music and sounds are the quickest way to transport me back in time.

In fact, I recently wrote about nostalgia and why it is that I have it for a time period in my life that wasn’t so kind to me.

5Ws Wednesday—Why all the nostalgia?

It seems appropriate that a nostalgia question is popping up on a Wednesday when I usually answer a W question. My answer is still unchanged. I’ve even recently discovered some music from the 90s that I had forgotten about. It was quickly added to my “high school nostalgia” playlist. I look forward to rediscovering more music from that era of my life. It’s always a happy trip when I find something “new”.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
