Today is movie/music Monday and also a day when the prompt is asking about what we think about more, the past or the future. Last year I wrote a very serious post about past trauma. This year, I’m thinking of something more immediate.

I’m thinking about the past today because last night (the past) I got exactly 40 minutes of sleep. The whole night.

I tried to go to bed early since I have to work today, but when my brain realized I was trying to go to sleep, it channeled Jason Bateman from the movie “Identity Thief”:

I’m sorry, but screw you Jason Bateman. Now I’m thinking about the future. As in, tonight when I will hopefully get some actual sleep.

My days of staying up late and sleeping late the next day are over just like my holiday break. Let’s get it together brain. Let me rest tonight!

Until tomorrow…

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
