5Ws Wednesday–What can’t I do in here? -or- Wait, you expect me to leave?!
I stayed home from work yesterday. My best kitty, Faye, had a routine vet appointment in the morning and then I had a follow up doctor’s appointment in the afternoon. Since I don’t get paid for sick days I don’t use after I leave, I’m using them all willy nilly. Though, to be fair, medical appointments are a legit use of them, even if an appointment is for a pet. As my supervisor told me one time, people use sick days when their human children are sick, so… With the time I had in between appointments, I added the finishing touches to our new creative space. Still need to install the track lighting and hang the curtains, which we are undecided about, we kind of like the window with just the shade, and Josh still has some fishing stuff to organize, but I’m calling it done.
Just look at it! This is not the whole room obviously. There are shelves and a desk on the other sides of the picture, but this is possibly the best part.

What can’t I do in this room?! I can sit in that chair and knit/crochet, whatever I usually do when sitting in my favorite spot on the couch in the living room. There’s a t.v. on one of the shelves directly across from this chair. On another wall, is my desk, where I anticipate spending a great deal of time working on my book.
This is truly the creative space we intended it to be. Josh can sit at the desk and do fishing things with his gear while I sit in the chair and use a lapdesk to type. Or I can read. All of my books are in this room. I truly look forward to breaking in that chair. We’ve had it for a few years. It was originally in our living room, but we never really sat in it. It was in a spot that did not provide optimal t.v. viewing. My sister-in-law has this exact same chair at her house and it’s her favorite. I sat in it last Friday when we went and visited. Hers is a lot cushier and mine still feels new and stiff. My mission is clear. I need my chair to be as comfortable as hers.
Which leads me to my second W question for today. Actually, it’s an almost W question. As in, wait, you expect me to leave?! Surely you don’t mean I’m going to have to leave this room? Right? Right?! This room is fabulous and I’m madly in love with it and once I get settled in there, I don’t want to leave. You can’t make me!
