I have felt particularly uninspired lately. I haven’t posted to my social media since before Easter. I have gobs of ideas and things I want to share, but I have no energy to do it. I haven’t even felt like writing lately. I badly need to finish transcribing volume 7 of my journals. Volume 7 Sarah did a lot of typing entries on her computer and using her dot matrix printer to print out what she typed and then taping the paper into her journals. Dot matrix printing was not very dark and bold. My eyes are struggling and my patience is running out with how annoying I was in the months that are covered in that volume. But I’m trusting my process and not deviating from it by skipping marked entries or shortening thins even though I’m sure I won’t use them later.
My new job is not tiring. But I think going straight from my bed, to the shower, to the desk in my office room does not allow for much movement and energy building. My coworker has already started a running tally of how many times I yawn when we’re meeting on Teams. Unpopular opinion here but I am very much looking forward to the middle of May when we can move into our new office building. I find that I am exhausted in the evenings even though I haven’t done much physical work during the day. I had to work all day Saturday. Actually on my feet and interacting with people and walking around all day and that about took me out when I got home. My feet hurt and I was just totally worn out.
But, in the absence of writing inspiration or really, inspiration to do anything except couch rot in the evenings, there are 4 things that are good lately.
- I have a tattoo appointment next Saturday. Going to pick something totally fun and meaningless off the wall in my artist’s working space. Not all tattoos have to mean something.
- Faye is doing so much better. While I still believe she won’t last much longer, the decision is not as imminent. Her arthritis injection is working wonders for her mobility and making her a bit more “bright eyes and bushy tailed” as my mother-in-law used to say.
- I ordered new glasses from Warby Parker. They came early and while I don’t hate them, I don’t exactly love them yet. But new glasses are still always fun. The color of the frames are listed as “poblano”.
- I don’t have to have Josh sign another spousal consent form to roll my retirement funds into my account at my new job. Had to do that last time and it annoyed me very much.
I have a late night of work tonight. There’s a meeting from 6-8 pm. Thankfully there’s nothing on the calendar for this weekend. Hopefully I’ll be able to regain some energy and recharge this weekend. Being tired just plain sucks.
In the meantime, carry on friends!
