Guess I should have saved my Tattoo Day post from yesterday for today. However, I still have an answer for this question. And that is because I have not yet exhausted all of my tattoo ideas. In October, a.k.a. spooky season, I plan to go back to the woman who did the turtles on my leg, the frog riding the beetle, and the goldfish on my chest…her. I plan to go back to her and have her put a lava lamp on my leg. Last October, the studio where I go had a flash sale for all of their Halloween-themed flash. I had an appointment scheduled for November, so I didn’t take advantage of the sale. Though I fell madly in love with a lava lamp piece that had ghosts floating around in it instead of round blobs. This artist has done those before. I’ve seen it on the digital board they have in the lobby where artist’s work is showcased. I mentioned it to her during my last session with her because I have regretted missing out on it last year and have been determined to go back and get it this year.
But after that, I’m going to be done for a while. I’m a little tired of the healing process and I’m sure my body is saying the same thing. Despite that, I have two more ideas for pieces I want after my self-imposed break is over.
When I go back, I’m going to see if the artist who did my most recent two can put a happy little mushroom scene on my ankle. And hopefully, he’ll be able to make one of the mushrooms look like a disco ball, like so:

This is an actual lawn/garden ornament that someone on Threads bought. I saw her post and immediately thought, “that would make a great tattoo!”. So I saved the picture and added it to the “Tattoo Ideas” album on my phone.
After that, the last tattoo I’ll get before I run out of ideas will be a simple heart that I have put near the heart I already have on my chest with Josh’s name in it. This heart will be a similar design in blue and pink (the colors of Infant Loss Awareness) and the ribbon that goes across it will say 2022, which is the year of my miscarriage. If I’m going to memorialize my cat and Betty White, then I need to also memorialize the child we lost. I think it will help in the healing process, which continues, even four years later.
After those three pieces, I don’t know what else I’ll get. Oh! I do know actually! At some point I’d like to, maybe, possibly, put the leg lamp from “A Christmas Story” on my leg. But I don’t know about that. It’s not very unique. I’ve seen many people online with those tattoos. I love the idea of a leg lamp on my actual leg, but like I said, it’s been done. I’m not 100% sold on that idea. I thought maybe having the artist draw a snowglobe around the leg. We’ll see. That is definitely 4th on the list, if it even stays on the list.
My youngest niece also designed a tattoo (at my request) that incorporates her name and those of her sisters and brother. That will be added to the list at some point. Though I really want her to draw something and not just have names. I’ll ask her again at some point in the future and see if she has any other ideas.
Until then, I’ve got a good list to work through. Unless you all have something you think I should get… ????
