Talk About it Tuesday

In the spirit of Halloween, here is an accidental piece of a Halloween costume that I made for the little brother of a student I taught when he was in middle school.

Their mom and I communicated on social media, despite it being drilled into my head by my “mentor” that I shouldn’t do that. She asked if she could pay me to make Kermit’s banjo for her youngest son’s Kermit the Frog doll.

This was the inspiration picture she sent me:

Apparently, what I created ended up being way too big for his doll. But, it was the perfect size for him to carry with him when he dressed as Kermit for Halloween that year.

Totally pattern free, all of my own creation. I can only do that with crochet though. Can’t free style with knitting just yet. Not a bad replica if I do say so myself.

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
