When are you most happy?

I’ve got a lot of things I could say about when I’m the most happy. There have been a lot of posts about it. In fact, I have a whole, “Things That Are Making Me Happy” category here.

This year has brought a lot of happiness. So many things. Engaging on social media, getting tattoos, writing, reading, making things with yarn…

Since today is Sunday, and I usually write about something good on this day, I’ll combine the two and say that the something good this week—and what is making me most happy right now—is my first attempt at making videos for social media. I recorded a few this week and posted them on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. I don’t think TikTok is going to be the place for me. My videos are kind of like the “one of these is not like the other” thing.

But I have gotten a lot of positive comments and feedback from people I know on Facebook. I think I’m going to stick to that and Instagram.

Over dinner last night, my husband and I had a long conversation about how to narrow my focus and what I can do to really build my platform. When we got home, I broke out a fresh notebook and wrote down everything I could remember from what we discussed. A new notebook makes anything seem possible.

I now have a long list of ideas for future videos and I am very, very excited to really put in the time and effort to producing videos that relate to my experiences with mental illness and what I have done to get to a place of thriving mental health. It’s going to be a lot of work, but it’s absolutely what I want to do and from the feedback I’ve gotten so far, it’s what people want to hear. And not just want, I think people need to hear what I have to say.

If you’d like to follow me on Facebook to see how I do with these videos, my page is here:

On Instagram, I am:

Hopefully, there will be much more happiness related to this in the future.

  1. Can’t wait to see them and a fresh notebook can cure a litany of woes. I am of the old school black and white marble composition book variety and I have one sitting here waiting for January.

    1. Oh mine is SO bougie! Lol! I got it a couple years ago from this apothecary shop down the road from me. It was too unique to use for my regular journal, so it sat on the shelf for a while.

      1. Yeah, occasionally if I see one I will pick up a cute little journal, but when September comes around and the marble books are like 45 cents at Walmart in different colors I have to get a bunch.

  2. Good luck! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

    1. Thank you so much!

      1. You’re quite welcome!

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
