“Something Good” Sunday

I waited to post this until this evening because I knew my something good was going to be the tattoo I just got. It is by far the most fun one I have.

I love turtles. They’re my favorite animal and I’m a child of the 90s, so Lisa Frank was the inspiration for the turtle on the bottom. Orange is my favorite color and my students used to always tell me I should get an orange turtle as a pet. I’m orangeturtle22 on Instagram and Threads because of that. And my oldest nephew, Quintin, also loves turtles. UNC is his favorite team so the top turtle is his, in Carolina blue. We call him Q for short, so his turtle has a Q tattoo. The real Q also has tattoos so this was perfect!

It’s on my calf and was absolutely a breeze to get done. Didn’t hurt too badly, no twitching like I had heard might happen, and it only took a couple of hours.

The other good thing about this Sunday is the Super Bowl. I paid my sister 50 bucks for her to put my name on the Super Bowl squares game cards she does every year. Depending on the score at the end of each quarter I might win some money.

Josh is making chicken wings and chili cheese fries for dinner. It’s going to be a fun evening for sure. No Sunday Scaries tonight!

  1. I love your tattoo! Haha. I love turtles as well. I have a Red-Footed tortoise named Zumi Tye. I’m not sure if you know that or not. 😆🤣😂

I’ve always said my spirit animal is a turtle, even wrote an article about it YEARS ago. Lol

The artist did a great job! It’s very colorful and inviting!

    1. Thank you so much! Totally didn’t know you had a tortoise! I had aquatic turtles for several years. The freshwater ones are my favorite.

  2. That tat is soooo cool….love it!!

    1. Thanks! It’s so fun!

Middle-aged Maverick is indeed middle-aged and she’s proud of it. She has a tendency to over think and over analyze many of the things she encounters in her life, as evidenced in many of her posts. She knows how to drive a stick-shift car, prefers Coke over Pepsi, and spent many of her adolescent years being obsessed with Jim Carrey.
